Rick Pitino is back in college basketball as the Head Coach at Iona… no, that’s not a joke.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them! When someone shows you they are a philanderer who has used strippers to recruit athletes and is willing to pay recruits… hire him to coach your basketball team?! Iona College, please welcome your new Head Basketball Coach, Rick Pitino (is… is that College President of Iona College Seamus Carey holding his nose? Nah, can’t be! Right?)

BREAKING #NEWS: Equipment manager’s estranged wife charged with trying to extort #Louisville coach Rick #Pitino.
— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) April 24, 2009
Who is Rick Pitino? He is a Hall of Fame Coach.
Pitino is also the man that, back in 2009, announced publicly that he knocked up the wife of a University of Louisville equipment manager. He, then, paid for the abortion. All of this was announced in order to ensure that he would not be extorted by the woman.
Moms all over the northeast, this is the man who will come into your living room and promise you that he will raise your son for the next four years.
Rick Pitino Strike Two
Rick Pitino returns to college as Iona coach – via @ESPN App It’s going to be hard recruiting against Iona now. They’ll be offering strippers in the dorms. https://t.co/g1HCXvcNqx

Rick Pitino is also the coach that, between 2010 through 2014, coached a program that used strippers (do I need to write “exotic dancers”? I’m not out here trying to upset the “exotic dancer” community) to recruit athletes to Louisville.
The worst part of this was his defense. He argued that he didn’t know that this happened. His assistants did this without his knowledge.
Really?!
So, yeah, send your son to play for the coach that has so little control over his program that his assistants use strippers to recruit players and he knows NOTHING about it!
Louisville banned themselves from the postseason in 2015-16 and suspended Pitino for five games. The NCAA also considered (wait for it) stripping (yes, totally worth it) the 2013 National Title from Louisville.
The NCAA wouldn’t have to wait long to make that happen.

Adidas claims Rick Pitino was “both aware and supported the scheme” to pay recruits in court filing https://t.co/Bkz0dhfeil pic.twitter.com/kdeGcMR821
— Bleacher Report CBB (@br_CBB) November 27, 2017
Tricky Ricky’s luck finally ran out at Louisville when, in 2017, Louisville was one of several schools named in a scandal involving paying recruits. This scandal involved numerous schools, as well as Adidas although Run-DMC was not named in the scandal. (That’s a reference for my old school hip hop heads.) Finally, U of L grew a conscience; too little, too late, however.
Pitino was fired, but the NCAA hammered Louisville by vacating both their 2012 Final Four appearance, as well as their 2013 National Championship.
Yes, parents, this is the opportunity to have your baby boy play for a coach that left his last collegiate position in scandal and humiliated.
