What’s up all my Belly Up Sports Fans. I hope everyone’s been getting by ok during this quarantine. This week we are bringing you something different. Every Friday we will be highlighting different players from the league. Some old, some new, just to shed some love and light to the great women who have played the game we all love. So, check out our picks for this week and check back each and every Friday to see the flashback players of the week.

Yolanda Moore is a former American basketball player that spent three years in the WNBA. She first played for the Houston Comets, where she won her first two WNBA championships. After her time with the Comets; she went on to play for the Orlando Miracle, who are now recognized as the Connecticut Sun. She played for them as a guard from 1999-2001. After playing the game she loved, she went on to be an assistant boys basketball ball coach.
In 2014, she became the fifth head women’s basketball coach for Southeastern Louisiana University. One of the reasons I love Yolanda Moore is because after all she’s been through she still continues to be a great voice and leader to young women today. Her social media and the brand that she’s building screams empowerment. With all of her accomplishments and accolades and everything she’s been through; she still chooses to win and showcases a great example of that. She started in the league at the very beginning and that’s why she’s my flashback player of the week. Shout out to her for continuous GREATNESS even after her time in the WNBA.

Becky Hammon is my flashback Friday player edition. Because why not, right?!? Let’s honor this spectacular player again and again. What she has done in her career on the court has been incredible. One of the best guards to ever play in the league. Becky was fierce with the New York Liberty. She played with them from 1999-2006. In 2006 she averaged 14.7 points per game, 3.0 total rebounds, 3.7 assists, and she even managed to get some steals and blocks during that year.
She went on to play for the San Antonio Silver Stars in 2007 and finished her career there in 2014. She finished her career with 5, 841 career points. Becky is a 4-time All-WNBA and 6-time All-Star. Now, her story doesn’t end there when it comes to her basketball career. Hammon transitioned her career to the NBA as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs in 2014. She is a role model to so many young girls being one of the first female coaches in the NBA. That is why she is my Flashback Friday player edition.
