In 2019 Wiese averaged 4.8 points and 1.8 assists in 32 games for the Sparks. While also shooting 37% from beyond the arc.

Sparks coach Derek Fisher added this about Wiese, ” Sydney Wiese is an invaluable part of our organization. She can play multiple backcourt positions, provides outside shooting, and is a model teammate and professional.

Wiese excited about signing her extension and had this to say,” I have so much gratitude for our owners, Michael Fischer, and coach Fisher. They have stuck with me throughout my transition from college to becoming familiar with the league. Their commitment to me as a person, player, and professional is unmatched. I take pride in wearing purple and gold i am excited to continue to represent the sparks organization.

In three seasons with the Sparks, Wiese is shooting 36% from three-point land. The Sparks are loaded, so there will be plenty of open looks for Wiese. With Nneka Ogwumike, Candace Parker, Chelsea Gray, and the addition of Kristi Toliver on the team, they will garner most of the attention. So it will be up to Wiese to space the floor and knock down open shots because there will be plenty. The former Oregon State guard can back up Gray at the point guard position as well.
