SmackDown Live comes to us live tonight from inside the SNHU Arena in Manchester, NH.
Kevin Owens & Dolph Ziggler Implode on SmackDown Live
Last week, Owens and Ziggler were put in a make-shift tag team and made to wrestle Heavy Machinery for a shot at the SmackDown tag team titles. The implosion of the pair was inevitable. They lost, and Ziggler and Owens turned on each other after to close out last weeks show.
The turn allowed Heavy Machinery to get a shot at the tag titles at a ppv and now gives themselves an opportunity to have a singles feud for a little while.
Ziggler & KO are two of the more interesting characters in WWE at the moment. Owens seems to be going between a heel and a face while Ziggler is pure heel, and neither is shy to tell you how they feel about you. KO is seemingly close to a face turn, and Ziggler is a great opponent for him to turn against. This should be one of the high points of tonight’s show.
Finn Balor vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Shinsuke Nakamura has been gone for a while. He didn’t go anywhere, WWE just didn’t use him. For a while. A couple weeks ago, Nakamura was shown in a backstage segment, eyeing Finn Balor and his championship.
Tonight, the two go one on one for the first time since 2016. They wrestled once in NXT, when Balor was on his way up to Raw. Since then, both men have struggled in their main roster careers.
It’s questionable why WWE is giving away a WrestleMania caliber match away on free tv. I thought it should at least be pushed back to Extreme Rules. But, with little to no hype about at all, it’s understandable why we’re getting the singles match on SmackDown Live tonight.
Aleister Black’s Opponent Is Revealed
For months, Aleister Black has been wanting someone to knock down his door. He’s been frustrated about the fact that no one want to fight him. He’s had excellent promos and it’s about time we see him in the ring.
The long rumored opponent for Black is Cesaro. This was heavily rumored before Paul Heyman & Eric Bischoff took over RAW and SmackDown Live respectively. Whether this ends up becoming true tonight or not, I believe Black will steal the show Sunday night. Mark my words Black will be WWE champ by the end of 2020.
