Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages it is your good buddy @KC_CARLYLE here once again. So today I would like to talk about 10 of My All Time Favorite “Scary” Wrestlers over the years!

As a kid who grew up loving wrestling and horror movies, this was bound to be talked about by me sooner rather than later. So with out further ado lets get down to “the meat and potatoes” of this article.

#10 Papa Shango

Whether you know him as Papa Shango, Kama, Kama Mustafa, “The Godfather”, or “The Goodfather”. Charles Wright is proably in your wwe knowledge. As Papa Shango he really struck me as a kid since I had spent alot of time watching monster movies. After seeing the movie “White Zombie” as a kid the idea of a voodoo witch doctor always creeped me out. While I admitlooking back tha there was some hoki things that happened. (The whole Ultimate Warrior feud) all in all Papa Shango was beloved by me as a kid and still is. Which brings him to the 10 spot. On my top 10 favorite “Scary Wrestlers list.

#9 The Boogeyman

The Boogeyman is a different kind of wrestler. Instead of being a monster heel that scared the life out of every babyface he came across. he did the exact opposite feuding with the top heels of the day. at the start of the mid 2000’s he feuded with guys like JBL and King Booker. Those feuds cemented a place for a very over the top character who really shouldn’t have gotten a break in WWE to start with, (since he lied about his age to be a part of tough enough, competing when he was in his early 40’s.) All in all there is just something very un-nerving about watching him eat nightcrawlers

#8 Vampiro

Trained by another guy wrestler who will appear on this list. Vampiro was a different breed of superstar when he first debuted with WCW. After extensive tours of CMLL and Japan he landed in WCW where he hooked up with Raven and the I.C.P. forming the dead pool. Being a hardcore wrestler with a propensity for weapons I was drawn in by his unique look and physical style. Later on in his career he would become half of the Lucha Underground announce team. Along with having some successful angles in Lucha Underground involving Pentagon Jr.

#7 The Brood

Ahhh “The Brood”, where would teenage me have been without The Brood. Being the fan of horror and monster movies along with loving heavy metal music. These guys were a no brainer for me. As soon as I saw these guys emerge from the ring of fire and start spitting blood, I was in! Gangrel the “leader” was already quite a seasoned veteran of the squared circle. There was also “The New Brood” who was just Gangrel with The Hardy Boyz. All in all the brood produced multiple world champions for multiple promotions. A great faction all around. making them one of my top 10 favorite “scary” wrestlers.

#6 Mankind

The first face of Foley I was introduced to was “The Deranged” Mankind. His battles with the Undertaker were legendary and his promos reminded me of Hannibal Lector. When Mankind first arrived in WWE he legit scared the bejesus out of me! His unstable personality, coupled with the fact that he had no problem destroying his body put a fear of dread in me. As a fan rewatching some of his older stuff just makes me shake my head and say wow. He was truly scary.

#5 Kevin Sullivan

Kevin Sullivan was one hell of a guy when it came to his gimmick. Rumor and Innuendo is out there that Vince McMahon never offered Kevin a job. The reason for that is apparently he believed Kevin lived his Devil worshiper gimmick. In WCW Sullivan was “The Taskmaster” a partial leader of “The Dungeon of Doom”. Sullivan would go on to have a long career and trained quite a few of the wrestlers we enjoy watching today.

#4 Abdullah the Butcher

Abdullah the Butcher, also known as “The Madman from Sudan” was something else to behold. Most famous in my opinion for his run with Gary Hart at his side. Abdullah was the kind of guy who just wanted to hurt you. If you were going to wrestle Abdullah, you had better be ready to don the proverbial “Crimson Mask”. Abdullah was notorious for biting, eye gouging, and most of all digging that trademark fork into your head. As a kid I remember legitimate fear when Abdullah came to the ring. Making him ran pretty high on the list of my top 10 favorite “scary” wrestlers.

#3 Kane

Kane holds a special place in my heart when it comes to scary wrestlers. His TV debut was in my hometown on October 5, 1997 at In Your House: Badd Blood in St. Louis, MO. As the brother of “The Undertaker” he had big shoes to fill. Let me tell you what, fill them he did! Kane has had explosive angles all over the wrestling business, and worked with some of the biggest stars. A personal favorite moment of mine was the formation of the “Brothers of Destruction” tag-team. This saw him team with his brother “The Undertaker”.

#2 Bray Wyatt

What can I say about Bray Wyatt? Really all I can say is WOW! Bray Wyatt is just simply amazing, and simply terrifying all in one package. His charisma is second to none. His character work and commitment is top shelf. Finally, his in ring work is top notch. Being a 3rd generation wrestler he really knows his craft and puts his all into being “The Fiend”. His recent feud with Daniel Bryan and The Miz shows just how unpredictable “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt is. Making him easily one of my top 10 favorite “Scary” wrestlers.

#1 The Undertaker

Now we have arrived at the pinnacle of “Scary” wrestlers, “The Undertaker”. Undertaker is the first person I remember seeing make little kids cry when he walked to the ring. When he first debuted Taker was quite the spectacle. Through all his incrnations there was never a time when “The Undertaker” was not feared. Both by his opponents and by those in the stands. I myself would be considered one of the Undertaker’s ” Creatures of the Night”. I hope you all enjoyed my list of My All Time Favorite “Scary” Wrestlers over the years. So that why Undertaker is the top of my top 10 list of “Scary” wrestlers.
