March 11th was a wild night for almost every sports fan when the NBA was sent into a hiatus. Most leagues were postponed, delayed, or cancelled. It all went down at a basketball game in Oklahoma. For those who do not know, Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19 before the game in Oklahoma City that night. This scare essentially shut down the sports world, not just basketball. This sucks for any Thunder fan for a number of reasons.
The NBA has suspended the season.

As an Oklahoma City Thunder fan, all I can do is hope the NBA season returns. The league has many options as to what they could do. They could return straight into playoffs and try to stay normal on timing, finish all of the games and playoffs and push back the off-season, or just cancel the rest of the season and start fresh next season. Most NBA fans would like to finish the regular season and play out the playoffs like normal or at least finish the playoffs.
NBA Hiatus Reflection from Thunder Fans
Being a Thunder fan I would love to do one of the two. The Thunder have played far past any expectations this season. This is also true for many of the players and is a good reason I do not want to see the season go. One thing I will say, this NBA hiatus has Thunder fans reflecting on what they saw and learned this season.
Luguentz Dort has been a key to recent success and a valuable starter for the team. Playing on a two-way contract, his time with the actual team is limited. Film has been key so that he would not waste any days he had with the team.
As fans, we also got the honor of watching Shai Gilgeous-Alexander grow in front of our eyes. When he first got here he was a walking bucket but over time he just keeps expanding his game. Gilegous-Alexander shows signs of being a future NBA All-Star and a treasure for Thunder fans.
Also, the old man himself, Chris Paul. At 34 he revived his career here in OKC and has led this young squad past everyone’s expectations. Paul has taught the young guys so much with his time here and if the season comes back, he will only teach them more.
Last but definitely not least, Steven Adams… Not. He was just as average as he was the last few years. Adams was expected to take a leap but on the offensive and he is used for handoffs at the top of the key which drops his numbers a little bit. His playing this way pulls him out of the paint which makes him only useful for screens, hand-offs, and passing to a backdoor cutter. Maybe during this hiatus, he can work hard and put up big numbers. It would be a good surprise for us Thunder fans.
With all of these things going in the favor of us fans, this hiatus just ruins it all. The Thunder were winning a lot of games leading up to the suspension which makes the timing that much worse.
