NBA Basketball fans have hope as reports comes out that cities with reduced restrictions may open NBA practice facilities on May 1st

Hope. NBA basketball fans may have found a glimpse of it.

Lockdown attacked the hope of NBA basketball fans when commissioner Adam Silver shut down the league back in March.

With one tweet, all of a sudden it would seem, hope for NBA fans has been restored.

If practice facilities open on May 1st, what does this mean?

The reality is, it may not mean much, initially. Most states are still under very strict lockdown orders.

States such as Georgia, home of the Atlanta Hawks, and Florida, home of the Orlando Magic and the Miami Heat, have begun an ease of restrictions and have announced plans for a reopening of public facilities as well as businesses.

As states continue to follow suit this opens the possibility for more NBA teams to get back into facilities and begin practicing. Until this occurs on a more massive scale, the NBA is committed to working with teams to arrange for opportunities for players to begin practicing.

NBA players react to the news

As this news has made its way through the league, player began expressing reactions at the possibility via social media.

What does this mean for the rest of the season?

Who knows what this means for the continuation of the 2019-2020 season?

Are we closer to seeing basketball return? What plans are under consideration for the NBA to come back? Will we see a truncated conclusion to the regular season? What about the playoffs?

There are a ton of questions to answer- and those conclusive results will be hard to come by.

After lockdown for the the last several weeks, however, NBA basketball fans (even us Knicks fans) have hope again!

And it feels really good!
