The NFL schedule is something that has recently shown more flexibility. The NFL has just flexed the Patriots vs Chiefs game out of primetime, in hopes that the product will not be some sort of wasted time to the hard working NFL fans.

I Think in Some Ways the Amount of Football Being Played On Sundays, Takes Away From the Fans

Watching NFL Redzone is a completely different experience compared to watching a single NFL game like MNF. While watching Redzone you see every touchdown from every game but you definitely don’t see every play. Redzone has taken some aspects of viewing football out of the picture.

Sometimes, I Just Want to See the Three-Yard Rush That Puts the Offense Into Enemy Territory

Watching the Sunday night game after a full day of Redzone is sometimes exhausting if you haven’t fallen asleep already. By this point, if you are like me, you have been lounging around for most of the day. Your eyes hurt and you probably don’t feel the same way you did in the morning.

Sundays are a day of rest and a day for Jesus. A little less football and a little more Jesus might be a good thing.

No Offense Scott but It Doesn’t Matter What You Are Watching, Seven Hours Straight Isn’t Healthy

I am not saying that the NFL should stop playing games on Sundays. However, I think that some amount of football being played on Sundays could be flexed to the weekdays.

The amount of games played each week fluctuates with bye weeks, so the schedule wouldn’t always look like this. But this is just a start.

The NFL could pursue two Monday night games, which was great for the Titans and Giants this past Monday. The excitement of those two underdogs winning is something that may have been overlooked if it happened during a busy Sunday slate.

Although Saturday is always going to be a College Football day, the NFL could easily play one game every Saturday.

Pros and Cons

There are a number of Pros and Cons to this Proposal. For NFL fans I can not think of many cons. They would most likely get to watch more football as long as the cable companies and their schedules complied.

I Think This Could Benefit Players in the Same Way

Players would be able to take in more NFL games themselves during the week. Most players watch film but don’t always have the option to watch the games live.

The biggest Con I can think of would be building the schedule in an even way, where each team had the appropriate amount of rest before and after each game.

Rest Is a Key Factor in Any NFL Season and Can Give Any Team an Advantage or Disadvantage

What do you think of the current NFL schedule? Are you getting the most out of every game?
