Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, children of all ages, it is your buddy @KC_CARLYLE. Today we will be goin through my 10 favorite factions in wrestling.

#10-The Million Dollar Corporation

The Million Dollar Corporation was led by Ted DiBiase and contained quite a few notable members. The list of member over time contained quite a few notable members. The members were Ted DiBiase, Ted DiBiase’s Undertaker, Nikolai Volkoff, Irwin R. Schyster, Bam Bam Bigelow, Tatanka, King Kong Bundy, “The Ringmaster” Steve Austin, Kama, Sycho Sid, 1-2-3 Kid, Xanta Klaus, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and Henry O Godwin. The groups foundation was laid on the August 16, 1994 episode of Monday Night Raw. The biggest claim to fame that the Corporation had was when Ted DiBiase “brought back” The Undertaker after a long absence. Everyone bought the ruse hook line and sinker. Arenas fiiled with people booing, little kids crying a perfect ruse. Eventually DiBiase’s Undertaker was proven to be a doppleganger (played by Primetime Brian Lee who would later become Chainz in the D.O.A.). The big thing the Corporation to their name was the Fake Undertaker vs The Undertaker in the main event of Summerslam 94. Which The Undertaker won. The fake Undertaker disappeared after this. The group would disband in 1995, where DiBiase would find his way to another faction on this list.

#9-The Dungeon of Doom

A lot of people give me flak for liking the Dungeon of Doom, but as a guy who grew up watching monster movies I loved them. The member of the Dungeon of Doom were The Master, The Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan, Kamala, The Shark, The Zodiac, Big Van Vader, The Giant, Meng, The Yeti, and The Barbarian. The Dungeon of Doom was basically what every other heel stable was in mid 90’s WCW, it was “ending Hulkamania”. Looking at the members of the Dungeon of Doom there was talented wrestlers and former champions. 1 thing that went on with the Dungeon of Doom trying to take down Hulkamania was the Monster truck Sumo battle on top of Detroits Cobo Hall between The Giant and Hulk Hogan. Fun Fact the Dungeon of Doom truck raced professionally on the PENDA Bedliners Monster Truck Series in the 90’s also.

#8-Disciples of Apocalypse

The Disciples of Apocalypse or (D.O.A.) began to form on the June 9, 1997 episode of Raw is War when, Farooq fired both Savio Vega and Crush. As a result Crush went on to form the Disciaples of Apocalypse a biker club style group, they rode to the ring on Titan Motorcyles (customized Harley Davidson from Titan Motorcycle company). The members of D.O.A. included Crush (the leader), Chainz, Skull, 8-Ball, and Paul Ellering (manager). D.O.A. came bout at a time where the “gang wars” were happening. There was D.O.A., The Nation of Domination, Los Boriquas, and The Truth Comission all feuding with one another. In 1997 Crush left the Company after becoming angry at the whole “Montreal Screwjob” incident. Chainz took over as the leader after this happened in June of 1998 Chainz left the company and Skull and 8-Ball kept tagging under the D.O.A. name. On May 14, 1999 they wrestled their last match for WWE and were gone later in the month. They may not be very popular but they are still 1 of my top 10 favorite factions in wrestling.

#7-The Dangerous Alliance

The Dangerous Alliance is one of the longest tenured factions in the history of professional wrestling. The DA spanned 3 different promotions from 1987 to 1995, it has also had some big names in its ranks. In the AWA the members consisted of Paul E. Dangerously, Adrian Adonis, Dennis Condrey, and Randy Rose. In AWA Condrey and Rose won the AWA World Tag Team Championships which would be the DA would win in the AWA. In 1991 the DA would show up in WCW. Their WCW members included Paul E, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton, Larry Zbysko, Madusa, Michael P.S. Hayes, Rick Rude, and Steve Austin. In WCW the Dangerous Alliance would win a few titles as well. Rude held the WCW US Championship. The WCW Tag Team Championships twice. Arn Anderson won them once with Bobby Eaton and once with Larry Zbysko. Also the WCW Television Championship was held twice by Steve Austin and once by Arn Anderson. The DA in WCW was one of the best factions from over the years with Paul E. screaming outside the ring, flattening people with that giant brick of a cell phone, and being the cheap underhanded character only he can play. The ECW version of The DA had the largest membership but was forgetable. Which is sad considering the talent. The members consisted of Paul E, 911, The Dark Patriot, Don Muraco, Eddie Gilbert, Jimmy Snuka, Shane Douglas, Sherri Martel, Sabu, and Tazz. The ECW really did nothing of note and was had quite a bit of controversy in the ranks.

#6-The Heenan Family

The Heenan Family is easily 1 of the most recognized factions in all of professional wrestling. There were versions in the AWA, NWA Georgia, WWA and the WWF. We will focus on the WWF version since it is the one I am familiar with. The WWF Heenan Family consisted of Adrian Adonis, Andre the Giant, The Barbarian, Big John Studd, The Brain Busters, Buddy Rose, The Brooklyn Brawler, The Colossal Connection, Harley Race, Hercules, The Islanders, Ken Patera, King Kong Bundy, The Missing Link, Mr. Perfect, Paul Orndorff, The Red Rooster, Ric Flair, Rick Rude, and Sivi Afi. These members were all in different versions of the Heenan Family from 1984 to 1991. When you think of the heel manager from mid 80’s to early 90’s WWF the 1st name is “The Weasel”. Whether it was him flopping around in a weasel suit or Andre slappin him silly at Wrestlemania 6. There were a few accomplishments also. 3 WWF Championships, Andre the Giant once and Ric Flair twice. 2 WWF tag team championships, once with The BrainBusters once with The Colossal Connection. 1986 King of the Ring, Harley Race. 1986 Sam Muchnick memorial tournament, Harley Race. WWF Intercontinental Championship, Mr. Perfect. The Heenan Family were the guys you loved to hate. Also making them 1 of my top 10 favorite factions in wrestling.

#5-The Hart Foundation

The Hart Foundation debuted on March 31, 1997. With its membership consisting of Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, The British Bulldog, and Brian Pillman. The Hart Foundation had a few championships also. Bret-WWF Championship once. Owen- WWF Intercontinental Championship twice. Bulldog- WWF European Championship once. Owen and Bulldog- WWF Tag Team Champions twice. The Hart foundation had a 2nd nature for getting heat. They were better than you, and booing them meant you were a stupid american, and if you weren’t from Canada you sucked. If you want to teach how a good feud should go you show the feud between Stone Cold and Bret Hart. The psychology and atleticism were 2nd to none. Lets not even talk about the Wrestlemania 13 match between them. That being said growing up I hated The Hart Foundation but respect them now.

#4-The Ministry of Darkness

In 1998 the WWF gave us what I think was one the best parts of the Undertaker’s career, The Ministry of Darkness. The members were The Undertaker, Paul Bearer, Bradshaw, Faarooq, Mideon, Viscera, and The Brood. They won a few championships also. WWF Championship-Undertaker once, WWF European Championship-Mideon once, WWF Tag Team Championships-The Acolytes twice. The Ministry of Darkness has had quite a few “interesting” moments. They tried to bury Stone Cold alive, they tried to embalm him alive, and tried to crucify Stone Cold. He tried to marry Stephanie McMahon against her will, then teamed up with Vince and Shane McMahon to form The Corporate Ministry. All in all the whole Ministry angle was great for a guy like me who listens to metal and grew up on horror movies. Which in turn made them 1 of my top 10 favorite factions in wrestling.

#3-N.W.O.

The N.W.O. is many peoples all time favorite faction. I like them now but when they 1st came out I could not stand them, and I will tell you why. You can’t have that many guys who have “Creative Control” in their contracts. They will refuse to lose, and if they lose they will never lose clean. Ever wonder why the “big gold belt” said nWo for what seemed like 5 years? “Creative Control”. Now if we look at the roster of the nWo it was full of talented people, Hall, Nash, Syxx, Savage, Curt Hennig, Rick Rude, and Scott Steiner just to name a few. The nWo held every title in WCW at one point or another. So with that being said while nWo is not my favorite there is no denying the impact they had on the wrestling business.

#2-The 4 Horsemen Wooooooo!

From 1985 to 1999 there were 4 men that personified the best in wrestling, those men were “The 4 Horsemen”. The Horsemen had many many incarnations over the years. The original version is what most people know consisting of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Ole Anderson. The amount of championship gold that passed through the hands of The Four Horsemen is uncanny. By my count there was seven different titles that wwere held by various members 32 different times! So basically in no uncertain terms the 4 horseman by far one of my top 10 favorite factions in wrestling.

#1-DX

D-X is easily one of the funniest, most entertaining, charismatic, and legendary factions in the history of professional wrestling. They consisted of HBK Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna, Rick Rude, The New Age Outlaws, X-Pac, Tori, Stephanie McMahon Helmsley, and Hornswoggle. From the taunts to Road Dogg on the mic, and the shenanigans that went on both in and out of the ring DX was without a doubt my favorite. They had “IT” plus as a kid watching them shut the Hart Foundation up was great. Then when they would come back over the years and only got better.
