Monday Night Raw comes to us live tonight from inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey!
Rey Mysterio Returns
Mysterio has been out with a shoulder injury for the past few weeks now. Right before he left, he relinquished his United States championship to Samoa Joe. Joe has gone on to lose that title and has since gone on to main event Monday Night Raw the past couple of weeks.
It’ll be interesting to see where Mysterio goes next. With Paul Heyman at the helm, he’s got to have something happen. Rey hasn’t been used all that well since returning to the WWE last year.
His son, Dominic played a major role in Rey’s rivalries the past couple months. It wouldn’t be too far fetched to see him do something involving his son. It remains to be seen what Mysterio will do going forward, but he will be on Monday Night Raw tonight!
Roman Reigns & A Mystery Partner vs Shane-O-McIntyre
The last thing that this rivalry needs is another tag match. WWE is basically giving away it’s main event of Extreme Rules, minus Undertaker giving someone a chokeslam and going ‘old school’.
This rivalry has been a mess. Undertaker coming back was a great moment, but nothing else good has came from these three since this feud began. If fans want to see anything, it’s the Undertaker. They don’t want to see Roman pin Shane, solely because no one wants to see it at all.
It really doesn’t matter who the mystery partner is. The finish is going to be screwy and Undertaker will probably come out and there you have your go home angle.
Boy I can’t wait till this is over! Read more on my WWE frustrations with Shane-O-Mac here.
Intergender Match
Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch team up tonight to take on Andrade & Zelina Vega. These are the type of intergender matches fans want to see! With two of the best in the ring, Rollins & Andrade, there’s no way this could be bad.
Andrade hasn’t been used great since coming up from NXT. He’s has some star making performances in the past, and I believe he’ll have another tonight. This match will end by DQ, probably. Evans & Corbin will be lurking the whole match.
Just like the Roman & Shane stuff, I can’t wait for this to be over. Becky beat Lacey three different times. Seth beat Baron twice. Under no circumstances should they have another match, but here we are.
Sure, the intergender match is different and switches the story up but what happened to no rematches? I also thought that the fans were the authority. As the kids say, “lmaoooo”.
The Club is Back
Last week, in the main event of Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles turned heel on Ricochet. Gallows & Anderson joined the beat down and now, the Club is back in business.
Styles’ was great back in Japan and going against John Cena as a heel, so he’s proved he can draw as a heel. Ricochet is a fantastic baby face to have go up against him as well. Even with the two as baby face it was good, but with Styles as a heel, I believe it’ll make their Extreme Rules match that much better.
The United States championship hasn’t felt this relevant since Cena held it in 2015. It’s main evented Raw the past two weeks and is sure to have a featured match at Extreme Rules. I said it since Rey Mysterio won it, the U.S title is relevant now, and two of the best in the world are squaring off for it now.
Ricochet vs Styles will be a barn burner, especially if they’re given time on the PPV this Sunday. The two will steal the show on Sunday, but we have to get through tonight first.
