Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, it is your good buddy @KC_CARLYLE here once again. Today we are going to talk about my top 5 favorite ECW wrestlers of all time!
#5 Sandman
The Sandman is easily one of my favorites from ECW. His who cares? Because I sure don’t attitude really hit home with me. I loved his coming to the ring drinking beer and smoking a cigarette. To me The Sandman was “one of the cool guys at the party.” The Sandman’s antics inside and outside the ring were noting to sneeze at either. While he may not have been the most technical wrestler, he could sure take a beating!
#4 New Jack
Where do I begin with New Jack…The dude is easily one of the most hardcore mofo’s I have ever seen. His feud with Vic Grimes proved that. The fact that he readily admitted that he would have killed Vic Grimes would he have had the chance. As well as the “Mass Transit Incident” make this man one of my all time ECW favorites.
#3 Raven
“What about me, what about raven?” The line uttered by Raven in ECW. Now when it comes to Raven, I am a big fan. When I first discovered him I was instantly hooked. He was the crazy knucklehead I was at that age. His work in ECW was excellent, the matches he had with Tommy Dreamer were insane! The whole Beulah storyline was pure gold in my eyes.
#2 RVD
Wow, where do I even start with RVD? This man is one of the most ahletically gifted talents I have ever seen! I will never forget the first time I saw him do the “split legged moonsault”. It was a life changing moment for a wrestling fan. Then I saw RVD do “The 5 Star from Splash” off of a ladder! So after that he became an instant favorite!
#1 Sabu
The Homicidal, Genocidal, Suicidal SABU! First off the reason that RVD and SABU make the top 2 is because of who trained them. In case you did not know they were trained by “The Original Sheik” Ed Farhat. Who also happened to be SABU’s uncle. SABU gets my #1 spot purely out of respect for him being a hardcore icon. His barbed wire matches with Terry Funk were off the chart. His finishing move “The Arabian Facebuster”, was one of the best moves in hardcore wrestling!
